Careers Business Manager - Part-Time

Crimson Design is seeking a business manager who will focus on simplifying and implementing our internal office processes so that our creative team can focus on providing flawless support to our clients and to each other. This is a team position in a creative environment, so you should be self-sufficient, decisive, and self-motivated, AND able to inspire, influence and lead other team members. You will be creating new business processes from the ground -up and implementing and tracking existing processes. It is important to be flexible, able to prioritize, willing to work in a fast-paced environment, and always eager to help others be successful. Cultural fit is a must.

  • Recruits candidates, manages interviewing and hiring, onboard new staff, and maintains appropriate records in personnel processing and terminations
  • With President/CEO, develops individual staff goals, implementation plans, and quarterly performance reviews
  • Manages staff time-off schedule
  • Vendor liaison for benefits management, including insurance plans and personnel policies
Daily Operations:
  • Staff meetings coordination, facilitation, standard agenda and actions item tracking/follow-through
  • Manages all database, software, applications, telephone, voice mail and other systems including outside vendor service providers, training and technical support
  • Manages facilities/building property contracts, repairs, maintenance, insurance coverage and manage claims
  • Keeps an updated record of standard operations procedures: Maintain updated Employee Handbook
  • Manages the order of office supplies including paper, letterhead, copier toner and other supplies as needed
Finances & Accounting:
  • Delivers monthly budget-to-actuals, cashflow, profit/loss, and income/expense reports, AND convert complex financial data trends into understandable success/risk stories for leadership team to use to make decisions
  • Coordinates annual budget process
  • Vendor liaison to outside accountant
  • Manages accounts receivable, payables, payroll, budget control and chart of accounts
  • Oversees staff's timely and accurate data entry of billable hours
Required Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in Organizational Management, Business Administration or Finance
  • Three (3) years minimum of office, organizational and operational management experience
  • Three (3) years minimum of P&L, cashflow management, financial planning and analysis experience
  • Three (3) years minimum of personnel recruiting, hiring, on boarding, and performance management experience
  • Extensive project management experience, including directing teams and ensuring their work gets done
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience with inventory, vendor and supplier management
  • Comfortable and confident in making effective autonomous decisions in a timely manner
  • Adept with the Microsoft Suite
  • Able to learn new software systems quickly
  • Works effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions: Builds rapport and relates well to others
