Jaw dropping

“We need better things, not more. We should not pollute the world with meaningless, unused things when we can make and support things of rare and precious beauty.”

Daphne Guinness

I am so awe inspired by Daphne Guinness, fashion icon.  Her creativity, boldness to push all limits, and ability to express herself....leave me daydreaming......

Thank you, Alive

A big thank you to Jackie Mantey and Jodi Miller from "The Alive" for visiting us at the new "Crimson." We have had a fantastic first month since our opening and have enjoyed some local press on the new space. I am so excited to bring you more in the next few weeks as we have lots of exciting things in the mix.

My new obsession is this green color!

Brian Coovert is the talent behind these floral creations, who personally gives me such inspiration. I can't tell you how much joy I get when I walk through the front door of our new space and see all of these beautiful flowers. How can your work environment get any better when you are surrounded by the beauty and aroma of fresh flowers.

We would love to have you visit us on your next trip downtown Columbus. We are tucked away in the quaint alley of Pearl street.

High Point Furniture Show

Its that time again for the 2011 Spring High Point Furniture Show. The High Point market is to home furnishings what New York fashion week is to the world of fashion. After the hard long winter my soul is needing some southern sunshine and design inspiration so I am especially excited to attend this year. High Point is a host to thousands of national and international guests. From emerging companies showing their brand new products to buyers scouting the latest and greatest design and furniture. This show is thee place to be for all lovers of interior design.
This one building is just one of the many that cater to 1000's of furniture makers, art, accessories, rugs, and the list goes on. I will be posting my favorite new trends and new pieces that will soon be hitting our 'Crimson' boutique in downtown Columbus.

Paper Living

Have you ever wondered what you can do with all that cardboard you throw away? Well how about creating a new workspace? Or a big play ground?

I appreciate the creativity that Alrik Koudenburg had in re-purposing and designing a new workspace. Wow, I would have so many places to doodle and draw on. Love it!!

Dig those boxes out of the trash and start building. Just like we did with those Lego's.

Exciting New Adventures

My to do list for 2011 seems as big as this suitcase! But inside are many exciting new things that we will be unveiling at Crimson Design.
1. Two people have been added to the Crimson team....intros to come
2. Unveiling of our brand new website
3. A new brand to Crimson...and who knew you could have a newly designed room for under $500
4. A completely redesigned blog
5. A new creative luxury studio showcasing many upcoming color trends as well as unique pieces to Columbus. More pictures to come.
6. One of my favorites is our new design studio. (directly above our old office space) Yes this is where the creative flows for all our new projects that will be highlighted in 2011.

7. Brand new places to explore in the world that will be shared on our new blog. Maybe I should take up flying lessons just so I can fly in this darling red plane.

So yes we are going places, sharing new experiences, braving new adventures (walking in these fabulous shoes is one) and we hope you will all come along for the ride. Happy 2011!!
