Today is the Hindi religious spring festival called Holi.

It is celebrated mostly in India and Nepal.

Every year thousands participate in the festival!

Although it is the least religious holiday, it is the most exciting one that exists.

The festival has many purposes but first and foremost, it celebrates the beginning of the new season, spring.

During this event, participants hold a bonfire, throw colored powder at eachother, and celebrate wildly!

A trip to food wonderland.

Cheryl and I recently took a little road trip up north to visit the new culinary hot spot of Columbus.  Well, it's sort of in Columbus.  I'm talking about the Veritas Tavern in Delaware, Ohio.  It's about a 30min drive from Columbus.  We invited our good friend Brian Coovert of Brian Coovert Floral Designs to join us.  We all piled in our car and headed out for this food wonderland.  Word on the street was that our experience was going to be a fantastic one as well as one influenced by molecular gastronomy.  What an incredible experience!  We had no idea what to choose from the menu so we said "give us the whole menu".  

Do you blame us?

It went on and on!

The colors were beautiful and the layout was perfect.

Just to let you know, this is shrimp cocktail spread out on a slate board.  

It was all soooo good.
