City that never sleeps

Next week I am off to NYC for a fast and furious shop.  Stephanie and I are off to work at the New York Design Center for a few days and than meet up with a client.  In order to bring the best designs and stay fresh on new products and fabrics we visit NYC.  I am still amazed that through out all my travels, New York, is still my all time favorite city.  The diversity, culture, and talent always inspire me to be a better designer.  I hope to share with you some of my experiences from design, shopping, to amazing food.

A visit to 5th Avenue and Bergdorf is always on the list

Stay tuned for more posts on New York.

2012 Parade of homes

Crimson has many new and exciting projects we are working on in 2012. The first of our projects I am excited to announce is that we have teamed up with Miller Troyer and New Avenue Architects and Engineers to be part of the BIA Parade of Homes in Columbus. Our house called "The Mill House," is a country farmhouse with a modern and rustic twist. This is one of the first in doing an entire house in this particular style and so excited to bring the Crimson style to the house. We will be posting over the next 5 months pictures of the building process and the progress of the house.

I can give you a sneak peak to what the exterior of the house will look like.

We are still working on new partnerships for the interior design aspect. Please contact us if your interested in partnering with us on this home for the 2012 Parade of Homes.

Hot trends for 2012

Last week I was in Atlanta for the Gift and Accessory show.  I always look forward to seeing what the new trends are going to be.  Acryllic has been hot but I had a new appreciation for it when I saw this amazing buffet (side panels in acryllic) and chair.  Ooollllaaaaa.......

In lighting I saw the use of glass, metals, and natural materials creating art pieces. I can't wait to find the perfect home for this little jewel.

I was obsessed with this lamp.  Its a piece of jewlrey.  No other place for this but in my bedroom.

Bar carts have become so popular.  They are multi functioning and great for entertaining.  The red is available in many other colors.

Trays made out of all types of materials were a big hit.  This silver one is made in Argentina I particularly  like this one because of the horns used as handles.  Trays are great to use when entertaining, or used on top of an ottoman.  I have also set them on a luggage rack and used it as a night stand.  Stop into Crimson boutique in March because we will have all types of them in stock for immediate purchase.

This glass vase was a show stopper!!  The classic urn shape, made in all glass, gives it a modern twist.  Beautiful for weddings or on a mantle.  We will be posting more of our favorites as they arrive in the shop.

Jaw dropping

“We need better things, not more. We should not pollute the world with meaningless, unused things when we can make and support things of rare and precious beauty.”

Daphne Guinness

I am so awe inspired by Daphne Guinness, fashion icon.  Her creativity, boldness to push all limits, and ability to express herself....leave me daydreaming......
