Contest room unveiling
I am excited for the 'unveiling' of our room make over giveaway which will be unveiled later this week. I was so honored to work with Kelly and her adorable daughter, Shannon. Hear what Kelly had to say on why she should win the make over.
As 40+ year natives of central Ohio, my husband John and I will be celebrating our 25th anniversary this year, and had planned to make some much needed changes to our home. This initiative got delayed due to some unexpected life changes with a recent cancer diagnosis of mine, which also effected my self-employment and related income. I have since been working hard to restrategize and rebuild my business, and my health.
Our master bedroom is on the first floor, and has become a room where our family, including 2 large Husky dogs convene during storms, sickness, watching television, working on a laptop, reading, dressing for functions, etc. The room is also filled with books, medicines, a needed light-therapy floor lamp, TV, and dated furniture. Despite this, it has been a room of recovery, especially for me, to have access to everything I need in one place which has increased my productivity and motivation.
When my young daughter has been sick over the years, she is in my bed to get well.
I would like this room to still have some functionality, but also a place of solace with more space and less clutter.

The design inspiration was a photograph that Shannon took with her first camara. We had the photo of a poinsetta blown up and framed. We selected a Sherwin Williams paint color for the walls and night stands. I can't wait for all of you to see the after photos. After the makeover was completed I realized that I am the one that was inspired through this process. Kelly's positive attitude, love for live, willingness to help others by sharing her finds in research, and the determination to win her fight against cancer was so inspiring to me. The gratitude Kelly has was a challenge for me to catch her thankful spirit and share it with others. We will post the video here on the blog as soon as its live on Good day Columbus.
